The Mikisew Cree First Nation’s traditional lands range over a large portion of Athabasca oil sands deposits. The Nation shares this territory with four other First Nations. Mikisew’s membership is the largest, with about 3,000 members. Most live in Fort McMurray, Edmonton, Fort Smith, Northwest Territories and Fort Chipewyan.

For over 30 years, Mikisew Group has worked toward the long-term, sustainable economic progress of our Nation and its members through employment and significant investments in education, training, social programs and infrastructure.
